Community Learning Program Coordinator
Contract Position (renewable annually) – September, 2026 to June, 2027
The Dartmouth Learning Network (DLN) is a charitable organization that provides educational opportunities for adults to improve skills in reading, writing, numeracy and digital skills as well as prepare for the Canadian Adult Education Credential(CAEC). Our Community Learning programs focus on personal development, skill exploration, art, food and health and wellness. All DLN programs are free and supported by the Nova Scotia School for Adult Learning (NSSAL).
We are hiring for the part-time position of COMMUNITY LEARNING COORDINATOR. This is a 40 week contract position (renewable annually) offering 22.0 hours per week, with 4% vacation pay and cost-shared health benefit and pension programs.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan and coordinate new and existing short-term adult learning program options that include food literacy, family literacy and personal development such as arts and crafts, study skills, etc.
- Assist with learner intake process and registration, as required.
- Effectively engage with program volunteers and community partners in program delivery
SKILLS:
- Experience in community program management.
- Program planning, workshop design and evaluation.
- Volunteer management, an asset.
- Computer skills in MS Office and Google apps.
- Patience and understanding in working with adult learners.
Compensation: $31.52/hour, 4% vacation pay and cost-shared pension and health benefits.
