Tina has been a volunteer tutor at Dartmouth Learning Network for about two years. She is one of those people who puts her heart and soul into everything she does and it shows. When matched with a young man who wanted to learn to read, Tina didn't hesitate despite not having a background in early literacy. Instead, she rose to the challenge. To begin, she worked closely with the staff at Dartmouth Learning Network to identify where to start and what resources to use. She also enrolled in Literacy Practitioner Training through Literacy Nova Scotia to grow her knowledge and skills. Thanks to Tina's positive and encouraging personality, her dedication and commitment to learning, her learner is building his skills to be a strong reader.
