Dana Atwell - Vice Chair
Since 2002, Dana has held the position of Director of Environmental Policy and Programs at Nova Scotia Power, an Emera Company. In this capacity he is accountable for developing strategic policy on environmental governance and providing advice and service to Emera subsidiary companies on environmental matters. He is accountable to the Emera Executive on all aspects of environmental performance, policy and management compliance.
In 2002, after 26 years, Dana retired from Shell Canada where he had held numerous management positions in the environmental and governmental affairs areas and most recently held the position of Manager of Industry and Government Affairs. During this time he worked extensively with the Canadian Petroleum Products Institute and represented the petroleum industry during the development of numerous national and international environmental regulatory initiatives.
Mr. Atwell is a past president of the Rotary Club of Dartmouth and holds a degree in Chemical Engineering from the University of Saskatchewan.
